Ahwini Reddy Nallayagari, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Ottawa,Under Prof. Elen Branova Group is actively engagĂ© in investigating the use of electrolysis for hydrogen gas production, with a focus on developing clean energy systems such as fuel cells and electrolyzers. She has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from Aix Marseille University and the University of Rome “TorVergata,” where she worked Under the guidance of Prof. Maria Luisa Di Vona and Prof. Philippe Knauth on the design, synthesis, characterization, and testing of Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) as electrocatalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reactions (ORR).

In addition to her Ph.D., Ashwini has pursued an Erasmus Mundus Master Chemical Nano Engineering program from Aix Marseille University, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, and the University of Rome “TorVergata,” where she worked on the synthesis and characterization of Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs). Her work experience includes a summer internship at Reena Enterprises in Hyderabad in 2016, where she worked on cationic resins for hydrogen peroxide treatment. She has also worked as a research assistant on a joint project between the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials and GMERF (Hyderabad, India) from 2016-2017, where she focused on nanofiber preparation by electrospinning and its surface and chemical characterization for device preparation for blood purification. In 2018, she was a visiting research assistant with Prof. Elzbieta Wojacznska Group at the Wroclaw University of Technology. Ashwini’s research contributions have been recognized with several awards and scholarships, including the Borsa di studio award – University of Roma TorVergata (2023), Vinci Mobility Fellowship – Franco-Italian University (2021), Borsa di studio award – University of Roma TorVergata (2019), and Lazio-Disco Scholarship – Master fund (2017-2019). She has also received a Price money-best poster presentation award from St. Francis College for Women affiliated to Osmania University India (2016).Overall, Ashwini’s extensive research experience, particularly in the areas of electrocatalysis and materials science, along with her strong publication record and awards, highlights her potential as a leading researcher in the field of Chemical Engineering.
